I'M BACK!!!!

Wow. I'm finally writing this post up, and I'm so THRILLED to be doing so. It has been a long while, far too long. Since my last post, just a little over a year ago, I have graduated from high school (BEAR FOREVER!!!), started and completed my first year of college, turned EIGHTEEN (voted in June BABY!!), switched my major from English to History, had two incredible summers ('17 & '18), and made some amazing and beautiful memories along the way.

Though I had a memorable and happy year, it became pretty difficult at its end. I lost my grandpa, my "Lito," on December 14th of last year. It was the hardest week of my life watching him fall ill and losing him as I have been so close to him since my maternal grandfather passed in 2012. But I drew closer than ever to Jesus as I prayed that week and meditated on His word, specifically the book of Hebrews, which is now my favourite book of the Bible. My family and I had a hard Christmas, but the joy of the Lord is our strength and will always be so. I am counting myself so blessed to have been the "Reyna" of my Abuelo, and that he got to see me graduate from high school as well as see my 18th birthday with me. I have memories with him that will last for all my life, and I know I will see him again in heaven.

More than anything, in this past year and two months, I have grown leaps and bounds in my spiritual life as well as my personal life. Earlier this month, I was writing in my journal and looking back on the wonderful memories I have made in the first half of the year. I was pretty proud to look at the progress I made from one semester to the next. 2017 was a year of milestones from start to finish; 2018 has been a year of happy memories and growth, and Lord willing, it will continue to get even better for God's glory.

I am so very excited to be back on my blogging journey. I decided after graduating that I wanted to enjoy my last summer "as a kid," so I took a step back from my blog. Starting college wasn't the easiest thing at first, especially emotionally. But I was able to get over that, and just continued to stick to school and family as my priorities, especially during the month of December. In a way, I'm really glad I wasn't blogging steadily around that time because it would have been too hard to jump back into it in January.

In any case, I'm back now, and I am so ready for the future. I have just over three full pages of blog post ideas and plans, so I am looking forward to what is to come!! Let's do this.
