The Versatile Blogger Award

A couple of weeks ago, I was nominated twice for The Versatile Blogger Award by these two lovely ladies: Natasha of Simply Durant & Jackie of This Halcyon Life.  A huge thank you to both of them for taking the time to nominate & recognise my little blog!

1. I love to read! My dad taught me how to read when I was 4 years old, and I have had such a love for a good story ever since. I could spend hours cosied up with a book & nothing else. Weekends are the best because I have time to read! Just this past Saturday, I spent around 4 hours finishing a book I had been working on and beginning another.

2. My two favourite subjects in school have always been English & History. For a while, I was an English major, but I did make the switch over to History. The great thing about history is that it's full of so many incredible stories, and many of them are worth remembering. Whether they serve as a reminder of the horrors of the past or if they teach us of some wondrous acts of mankind, history is a valuable tool that teaches us so much.

3. I'm in college to become an American History teacher for high school students. AP U.S. History was one of my two favourite classes in high school; the other was A.P Language & Composition. As a very patriotic American, I want to be able to learn as much as I can about the illustrious & flawed history of my country while teaching its importance to young minds.

4. This brings me to my next point: I LOVE AMERICA!! What a lame segue :') I have been raised to be a patriotic citizen, and while I admit that I did become a bit disenchanted with the state of affairs during the first half of 2015, I quickly regained the love & pride I have always had in my heart for my country. I could seriously go on and on about it, but I'll leave it here haha.

5. A lot of my favourite authours are hailed, renowned, British, and dead in the grave alive in the hearts of readers everywhere. (They might be gone from this world, but they & their works live on.) Among them are C.S. Lewis, J.R.R.Tolkien, Jane Austen, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I'm a sucker for classic works of literature.

6. My sense of humour is sarcastic, dry, brutal, and occasionally dark.

7. Blogging is something that I genuinely had an interest in when I was super young, but I didn't know how to materialise having my own space on the internet until I was much older.
